Travel tips

When to go

The climate is Sudano-Sahelian with a rainy season from May to September making bush travel more complicated.
The dry season from October to April is more conducive to travel.
Temperatures can reach 104 °F or even 113 °F in the north of the country at the end of the dry season. The season from November to January is the most conducive to travel with milder temperatures.

How to go

Flight prices are constantly changing. Air tickets are generally 50 to 60 % cheaper outside school holidays.
Take your ticket at least 3 months before your departure to benefit from the best prices. Beware of stops that can lengthen the trip.

Entry formalities

All travelers to Burkina Faso must have a valid passport and a visa. The visa must be requested from the embassy of Burkina Faso in your country of residence ($ 80 for a stay of less than 90 days).

Vaccination against yellow fever is mandatory. Other vaccines are recommended. Consult your doctor before leaving.
